It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that
my Mom passed away from Cancer last Monday, October 2nd. I
appreciate all of your prayers over the last 9 months. They
meant a lot to me, my mother and our family. I believe she
will always be with us in spirit. This newsletter is a tribute
to honor her.
My Dad called me on Saturday to tell me that Mom was going
into the hospital. They thought she had an infection and fluid
was building up in her lungs. I immediately knew I needed to
be with her, so I packed up my car and headed to south
Florida. I called my brother who was getting on plane to be
with her as well. Strangely enough my sister was already down
there with her family. It was as if my Mom was summoning all
of us to be with her in her final days. I drove straight
through and was walking into her hospital room just 4 hours
after getting my Dad's call.
As we all sat around her hospital bed and she transitioned
in and out of consciousness, I'll never forget the moment she
sat up and pointed to each one of us in the room and said,
"Love, Love, Love."
How appropriate. The greatest gift she gave her family,
friends and co-workers was her love and one of her last
coherent sentences was summed up in three simple words. Love,
Love, Love.
I believe it was this same love that brought friends from
all over the country to her funeral. One friend even drove all
night from NY to make the service. And it is this same love
that everyone who knew my mother will carry around with them
in their hearts.
At her funeral, the Rabbi said that the greatest thing we
can do for those who pass on is to honor their memory by
telling their story. With that said I'd like to honor my
mother's memory by sharing her story with you. Thank you.

I'd also like to thank Gold
Coast Hospice.
They were so wonderful and caring and helped my mother
spend her final hours in comfort and peace. The hospice nurses
were truly angels on Earth.
