Deep in Positive Thought
September 7th, 2007 Posted in GeneralThis is my daughter when she was a baby. She’s nine years old now. Amazing how time flies. Every-time I look at this picture I am reminded to calm down, take a deep breath and relax. It keeps me positive and energized. I’d love to know what helps you stay positive and calm?

I keep a note card in my pocket that has a few inspirational quotes and Bible verses. I find that if I take a moment to just stop and read these that I tend to clam down.

Yoga does it for me. There is a wonderful yoga show on FitTV at 8:30 a.m. You should check it out.

Time waits for no one does it?
An ‘attitude of gratitude’ is what helps me to stay positive. One can’t be grateful and stressed at the same time. Also knowing that time is not recycleable brings me back to “Now”, which is all we really have. My grandfather told me when I was very young, “Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.” I have lived my life by this with the blessing of seeing the cup half full.
When I know my thoughts are running away and seem to be getting louder I am instinctively drawn to Nature. Birds singing to me, the gurgle of the water, sweet smells and the passing wind all remind me that I am not alone and that change is the only thing that is constant. This brings a serene calmness to me.
Your writings are wonder-filled! I look forward to more.
