Positive Business
September 29th, 2007 Posted in LeadershipI just spoke at the EWI (Executive Women’s International) conference. What a great group of leaders. It’s amazing how as a speaker you feed off the energy of the audience and I have to say, their energy was awesome. They understood the importance of positive business. At the end of my talk a woman stood up and shared a story about how her company use to be privately owned and the owner had created a very positive culture that resulted in significant growth and success. However, when he sold the business and it was taken public, the new leaders did not focus on creating the same culture. As a result the company is not experiencing continued growth and success.
Unfortunately we see this too often. It’s not a choice between people or profits. It’s knowing that your people are the ones who deliver your profits. Focus on creating a positive culture where people can thrive and so will success and profits.
