The Jacksonville Jaguars
Before the start of the 2007 NFL Season Jack Del Rio, head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, read The Energy Bus. With a goal of uniting his team, fueling them with positive energy and empowering them to overcome adversity and negativity Coach Del Rio gave a copy of the book to every player and coach and invited Jon Gordon to speak at a team meeting.
During his presentation Jon shared that in order to win a Super Bowl it was essential for the team to get on the same "bus" with a shared vision and purpose. He also identified the common obstacles that often sabotage a team’s success and provided solutions to build cohesiveness, trust, optimism, positive energy and inspired teamwork.
In addition Jon shared strategies that each player could use to overcome their own personal challenges and perform at their highest level.
The result was a team that was inspired by vision, fueled with enthusiasm, powered by purpose and driven to succeed.
