Eleven days ago I got into my car and hit the road for another leg of the Energy Bus National Tour. It's been a whirlwind trip ever since. I spoke in Tallahassee, Florida on Wednesday night, woke up the next morning at 5am and drove 16 hours on Thursday, 14 hours on Friday and 6 hours on Saturday to finally reach Los Angeles. After driving so long through the desert I felt like I had reached the Promised Land when I walked the Pier at Santa Monica. The ocean breeze never felt so good. :)

The next day I hopped on plane from LAX airport to Cleveland and then to Detroit where I was speaking at two different conferences. After my event in Detroit I returned to LAX on an evening flight, climbed in the "Energy Bus" and drove another 93 miles to Victorville, California for an event the next day. After Victorville I drove 430 miles to San Francisco, arriving late at night, and woke up the next morning to speak to a group of Social Workers at the Department of Family and Children Services in San Fran followed by a lunchtime talk to my fellow Cornell Alumni. After that I took off for a short 7 hour drive to the San Diego airport to pick up my wife and kids, who I miss terribly.

Am I tired?

You bet I am.

That's why I am praying right now for the strength to keep going. I know I can't do it alone. You see, the other day I found myself holding back during a talk because I was trying to conserve energy knowing I had to give two talks the following day. It didn't feel right and I received the insight that said stop holding back, give it all you've got, share all the energy you can, and trust that you will be refueled tomorrow.

I realized that the problem for me and all of us is not a lack of energy. It's a lack of faith, trust and hope. We lack the trust that God will move heaven and earth to supply us with the infinite energy of the universe to power our life and work. We lack the faith that the energy we share today will be replenished tomorrow and we lack the hope that tomorrow will better than today.

When we try to do it all our selves we only tap into a limited amount of energy. This cuts off the infinite power supply that is available to each one of us and this leads to fatigue, burnout, unhappiness, poor performance, depression and a lack of joy. The good news, however, because there is always good news is that in our tiredness, we will come to the realization that we can't do it alone. This will cause us to seek more power and a greater power source just as the world looks for alternative energy sources to solve our global energy crisis.

And in our search for greater energy we will find that there is an infinite amount of love, joy, enthusiasm, positive energy and spirit that is available to each one of us if we open our energy pipeline with trust, faith and hope. I can feel it right now as I write this to you. We will realize, paradoxically, that the more enthusiasm, purpose, love and joy we share the more it flows through us and the more energy we have. And the more we hold back because of a lack of faith, trust and hope the less energy we will have. Positive energy begets more positive energy.

The world should not try to conserve energy. After all, the energy in the universe is infinite. We just need to choose a different kind of fuel. Solar, Quantum, Wind, etc. to power our world instead of oil.

And in our lives we must stop relying on a limited power supply. We need not conserve our energy. We just need to tap into a greater power from which we receive it. Our job is simply to give it all we've got today and trust that we will be refueled tomorrow.

It's working for me and I believe it will work for you.
